this is a headcanon-based & often canon divergent depiction of albedo from genshin impact. i am unlikely to change anything about my depiction in light of new canon information.

basic info.

[ 1 ] albedo. / calx, "kriedeprinz", etc.[ 2 ] 490s. / unless your muse has reason to know or is told otherwise, albedo claims to be in their mid 20s. usually, a random number between 25-27[ 3 ] they/them. / albedo is nonbinary. the specifics of their gender do not matter.
both gendered & gender neutral language is welcome, just do not call them a man/woman.[ 4 ] aro & ace-spec. / very demiromantic. otherwise bi.sometimes i make funny ic thirst posts: these are crack and for the joke, do not take them into serious interactions. in serious, albedo is extremely reserved about affection & takes a while to warm up to it.[ 5 ] adhd & autistic. / yeah. never seen a nt albedo on this site. + im audhd idk how to write allistics[ 6 ] cn voiceclaim. / this isn't a significant detail, but the vibes the cn voiceover for albedo has encompasses my albedos vibes the best out of the available ones. <3

apart from appearance changes, my albedo is somewhat canon-divergent. most importantly: while they are absolutely still in search of the "truth", it is for their own curiosity and they have no intention of sharing that truth with rhinedottir once they find it.there is distrust (and a complicated dislike) for her after learning about the existence of subject two and the circumstances of his abandonment, on top of considering what happened to durin. largely, their time in mondstadt has made them reconsider just how great of a mentor rhinedottir actually was. they do not want much to do with her, and try not to tie themself to her hand in their existence.although their nonhuman identity is still very important and impacts every part of their life, they would consider themself closer to a human descendant of khaenriah over solely being a product of its alchemy.i personally (think) i make them a little more sociable than the albedo hyv gives us, but that's up to debate!

headcanons.

[ - ] family. /✧ ✧their only effective family is alice and klee.though, that does not stop them from behaving like (and viewing themself as,) a disappointed mother scolding inexperienced adventurers they find freezing on dragonspine.

[ - ] pet rats. / ✧ ✧✧
use any pronouns for the rats whenever. albedo didn't give the rats any genders while creating them, and just switches pronouns whenever.albedo created the rats themself. both because they need to be able to bring them to dragonspine when they can't return home for extended periods of time (need to be extra cold resistant!), and because... well, the short lifespan of organic rats makes them sad. immortal rats for the immortal homunculi.✧skirret ; mostly white, slight gradient at its paws and face and a star on his neck. fattest rat (beloved). good to hold like an orange. this one is trained to hold a small rat-sized sword (not sharp). particularly enjoys breaking open nuts for a treat.
✧chervis ; brown with a white belly. large star on its stomach. most responsive to her own name, and probably the one that cuddles the most. favourite passtimes are napping and pea-fishing. favourite treat is grapes.
✧parsnip ; mostly white, with a brown marking on her head. star on her back. sometimes affectionately called "klee jr." for being the smallest and most trouble-making of the bunch. in free roam time, she spends most of her time climbing what little furniture is in albedos bedroom.
✧captain ratbeard ; ... affectionately (they cannot bring themself to use the real name) referred to as "the little captain", by albedo. rat made for kaeya ( @ lNSlNCERlTlES ), to look like kaeya! it's like their kid. albedo takes care of it. they are yet to know the little captains personality.

[ - ] living arrangements. /✧ ✧6/29/23 ; have updated the layout slightly! old one (with the sims image attached) is kept for another visual on what their home is like, but the green one is the up-to-date one.they rent on the second story of a house near the knights hq.if new information regarding the plumbing systems in teyvat is revealed by hyv, just assume whatever sink/shower/toilet that exists here is compliant with that.
✧[ - ] the livingspace looks.. painfully normal, barely even lived in. just your average house. it's nice and a little cozy, but aside from some of albedos paintings on the walls, and some rocks and little gifts in their 'office' space: it's not personal at all.
just looking at it, one might not guess that they're actually extremely untidy.they don't keep too many personal belongings at "home". it's a place to sleep, and the need to take care of their rats might be the only reason they even return to the place on a daily basis. most of their more important belongings are kept on dragonspine.
✧[ - ] their bedroom, is not so "normal" looking... no furniture minus their dresser, a couple stacked mattresses for a bed ( there's no bedframe...? ), and a large enclosure for their rats along the wall.
everything rat-care-related they store on top of their dresser. food, toys, etc.

[ - ] gloves & abyss "curse". /✧ ✧being created by inauthentic means does not free them entirely from the curse(tm). they are still of khaenri'ahn origin, and regularly practicing khemia does not do them any favours in that regard.
✧while they are capable of hiding this with a little shape-shifty magic (think the joke with making their star disappear in 2.3?), it takes effort to maintain the disguise over the afflicted areas. they prefer to just wear their gloves.sorry one of the images is cropped nsfw i really need to draw their abyss curse/decay/whatever more often

[ - ] bow user. /✧ ✧being hundreds of years old, they are capable with a handful of different weapons, including using alchemy in an offensive way.
✧swords are definitely within their skillset and they do still use a sword when necessary / when convenient, but they prefer a bow when they can.✧
on the note of them being able to use alchemy in an offensive way: this means they do have access to other elements apart from their vision, but this is not really something they resort to. mostly because it requires actual prior setup that is not available in the moment of combat, but also because it requires more explaining than they're willing to do if anyone had to witness it.
✧ this is something they sometimes use to navigate dragonspine, though. ( ex. the anemo monuments at the summit. )✧

[ - ] gliding. /✧ ✧they dislike gliding and avoid it when they can.
given the terrain on dragonspine (and most of mondstadt, for this matter) it is almost impossible to avoid entirely, but they still try.( + they aren't .. very good at it, either. truly it is best to have both feet on solid ground. )

[ - ] self care. /✧ ✧they're just a liiiittle bit neglectful of themself, it's easy to forget basic things when your needs as a homunculi are drastically decreased from the average human. regardless, it would do them well to take better care in some aspects.when pressed, their go-to excuse is that alchemy does wonders for letting one get away with this sort of neglect, which isn't necessarily wrong... but, obviously, is not the full truth. archons do they tell a lot of half-truths.

[ - ] they do not drink. /✧ ✧they do not know what sort of drunk they are or how much alcohol they can reasonably handle, and even for someone as curious as albedo: they would prefer to stay in their right mind. they are a little afraid of the idea that they could have one too many and start sharing secrets they otherwise would not have wanted to share.it isn't out of the question in trusted company! especially if trusted company already knows all their secrets.

[ - ] slight issues with dependency. /✧ ✧jumping from well over 400 years of just following their master around and largely just following instructions, to being a functioning "human" adult with a job (several jobs) in mondstadt is quite a big leap to do as abruptly as they did.they don't want to have to rely on people, but there is immense comfort in knowing when they can.
✧adjacently notable that they also have anxiety around the idea of abandonment, but they have no intention of unpacking that.

[ - ] no body heat. /✧ ✧with some exceptions*, their body does not naturally generate heat unless they will it to (which they do not do often. that requires energy and conscious effort.)( * being flustered. you know. normal things that make normal humans feel very hot. )

[ - ] very minor shapeshifting abilities. /✧ ✧they can change minor things about their body & appearance at will (with a lot of limits, and largely requires conscious effort). this includes the ability to make the star on their neck appear/disappear, but also transing their gender whenever, or like cat ears if they wanted.nothing too severe like to completely take someone elses whole appearance, but little things.

[ - ] autistic. /✧ ✧quick list of autism (& adhd) specific headcanons.
kept mostly lighthearted since im audhd and want it to be lighthearted.✧- they do not make eye contact regularly / they hate eye contact very much.
usually, they prefer to just stare at peoples face / almost like they're looking past them. there are situations where they will make eye contact; but it's usually brief or related to masking.that said, they don't really mask much. unless it's directly related to their jobs (both with the knights and their artwork) / being professional with social niceties, they cannot be bothered.✧- they do not take kindly to unexpected physical contact.
expected is great! unexpected upsets them a bit.✧- difficulty judging how close their friendships are. really need the "we are friends." (and any other label, really) part spelled out!this, combined with a little difficulty in code-switching, leads to using professional titles for their colleagues for way longer than technically necessary. if they're calling every single captain, "captain" forever, don't mind them!✧- worst sensory: bright overhead lights. ( they hate the knights hq hallway for this, especially. )- best sensory: anything that clicks. pens, lightswitches, kameras.. clicky.✧- sometimes goes semi/non-verbal when overwhelmed. usually semi-verbal, rarely entirely non-verbal. they're pretty decent at just walking away from these situations they think suck, though, so this doesn't come up a lot.✧- special interest is (to no ones surprise) alchemy. but they also take a strong autistic interest in rocks!- adhd specific... very prone to random hyperfixations. absolutely loves collecting random new information and hobbies.

[ - ] self conscious of their artwork. /✧ ✧by all means, they’re incredibly skilled! and they know this well. there is no doubt in their skill. but unless it’s for research purposes, or sharing experiment sketches with timaeus and sucrose, they’re very hesitant to show it off. shy, even.the attention that comes with showing off something as personal as their artwork is a little awkward, and they don't know how to respond to compliments.✧
( this isn't to say they can't take a compliment, and they are always very happy to receive praise. however awkward sharing may be. )
